A gallant Covenant University alumnus, Mr Akinbode Roberts, has posited that high spirituality, as well as the ability to connect well with others, are good requirements to be successful in the world of business.
He asserted this during his presentation at the Town and Gown Interaction Seminar of the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering (EIE), held on the 23rd of January, 2024, at the EIE Seminar room in the College of Engineering, where he was the Guest Speaker.
Mr Roberts, who is the CEO OF Dataleum, a transformative digital ecosystem that offers business intelligence consultancy, boldly states that he aspires to be the youngest African billionaire by 2025, and also asserts that Digital Brand visibility is the heartbeat of impactful connections, with the innate ability to leave a lasting imprint on minds.
According to him, if we are tuned to God and put him first, he makes a way for us to make waves in our various endeavors, but we must always leverage on the experience garnered from other people, ensuring we are teachable, and keep learning every day, to survive in the world of works.
He said that we must also make sure we are Spiritually, Emotionally, Physically, and mentally intelligent, and make adequate use of the Artificial intelligence that is now readily available so that we can adequately benefit from it to make our work process easier and better.
Furthermore, he enthused that the ability to manage one’s emotions is very important as this helps in leadership development as well as in conflict resolution, which eventually would culminate in bringing about a better society for us all.
Mr Roberts used the medium to shower encomiums on his former lecturers, encouraging all participants to give them a standing ovation, for all they had imparted to him during his sojourn as a student at Covenant University. He appreciated God for helping him become the CEO of a growing company that has over 40 people in its employment.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Head, Department of EIE, Dr Samuel Isaac, gave an insight into the reason for the establishment of the Town and Gown interaction, as a way to prepare the students for the world of works; by letting them learn from the people who are active in the industry. He expressed joy for having the students learn from someone who had been in their shoes as a former student, but now is a captain in the industry.
He also enjoined the students to take adequate measures to learn and take notes from Mr Roberts’ presentation, to prepare themselves for their future.
