Covenant University’s Covenant Applied Informatics and Communication Africa Centre of Excellence (CApIC-ACE) marked a significant milestone in its cancer research endeavour with the commencement of its Precision Oncology Workshop on Monday, October 14, 2024.

Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, has once again solidified its reputation for excellence in a remarkable achievement that underscores Nigeria’s growing academic prowess, as the institution, renowned for its high academic standards and discipline, announced that 339 students have graduated with First-Class honors at its 19th convocation ceremony.

Covenant University has, once again, retained its position as the leading higher institution in Nigeria, according to the latest Times Higher Education (THE) ranking released earlier this week. To the glory of God, Covenant remained No. 1 in Nigeria, No. 1 in West Africa, and moved up to No. 6 in Sub-Saharan Africa.  

The Chancellor of Covenant University, Dr. David Oyedepo, has declared the establishment of the great Citadel of Learning an ‘Act of God.’ He made this assertion at the Special Convocation Service, which marked the beginning of the events leading up to the University's Convocation Ceremony, tagged, ‘The 19th Release of Eagles.’  

Korapay Limited, a company founded by Covenant University alumnus, Mr. Dickson Nsofor, has announced a significant initiative to assist indigent students struggling to pay their tuition. This was made known during a recent meeting with Covenant University Management, where the company announced a commitment of N200 million as an endowment over the next decade, with plans for future reviews.

In a gesture of goodwill, the 35AB Vulcan WOS and Segt’s Mess from Alamala Barracks recently visited Covenant University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, to extend their congratulations on his acceptance of an honorary membership offer of their esteemed Mess.

The Chancellor of Covenant and Landmark Universities, Dr. David O. Oyedepo, has called for a radical overhaul of Africa's education system to tackle local challenges. Speaking at a special lecture, held in his honor,  to commemorate his 70th Birthday Anniversary, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, he stressed the importance of creating a locally tailored educational model that meets the specific needs of Africans, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

Covenant University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, has issued a clarion call for researchers across African universities to unite in tackling the continent's growing energy crisis. He made this appeal at the opening of the International Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure Development (ICSID 2024), co-hosted by the university’s Department of Civil Engineering and Building Technology program. The conference was themed, ‘Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development in the Built Environment.’

The Covenant University Community Development Impact Initiative Committee (CU-CDIIC), recently hosted the 2024 Science Olympiad Nigeria National Tournament for both Division A and B finals, at the Covenant University Research, Innovation, and Discovery (CUCRID) Building.
